Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24.08.2026

Thank you for using Spark. This Privacy Policy explains how the Spark app (“the App”) handles your information. The short version: the App does not collect, store, or share any personal data. Spark is a curated, offline collection of facts — there is no account, no cloud sync, and no internet connection required.

Who is responsible

Spark is developed and maintained by Christoph Pageler.
Email: christoph@pageler-software.de

What data the App stores

Spark does not collect any personal data. Specifically, the App does not collect or process:

Your category and theme selections, and other in-app preferences, are stored only in Apple’s local device settings storage (UserDefaults) on your Apple TV. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to the developer.

Purchases

Spark's fact library and themes are free to try with 3 categories and one theme. The remaining categories and themes can be unlocked with a single one-time purchase (no subscription), processed entirely through Apple's App Store via StoreKit; the developer does not receive or store any payment information. Whether the unlock is active is determined directly from Apple's purchase records on your device.

No accounts or notifications

Spark has no user accounts, no sign-in, and sends no notifications. Nothing about you is registered with the developer.

Third-party services

The App integrates no third-party analytics tools, advertising networks, tracking SDKs, or social media frameworks. No data is shared with any third party.

The App is distributed via the Apple App Store. Apple may collect certain technical and usage data as part of operating the App Store. This data collection is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy and is outside the developer’s control.

Children’s privacy

Spark is designed for general audiences and does not knowingly collect any data from users of any age, including children. Since no personal data is collected at all, the App complies with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and applicable European regulations.

Data security

Since no personal data is collected or transmitted by the App, there is no data to secure on the developer’s end. Any data stored locally on your device is protected by the security features of your Apple TV, including device encryption.

Your rights

As the App does not collect or process any personal data, there is no personal data to access, correct, export, or delete. If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR); since no personal data is processed, no legal basis is required and no data subject rights apply in practice. If you nonetheless have a concern, please contact the developer.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time, for example if new features are added to the App. The updated policy will always be available at the URL linked in the App and on the App Store listing. The date at the top of this document indicates when the policy was last updated.
